SENIOR CONSULTANT (GIS)

Westin is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Consultant with primary experience developing GIS applications.

The Senior Consultant - GIS developer/analyst, working in the Charlotte, NC office, will assist in the design, implementation and integration of advanced information systems, including expansion of services throughout local government and utilities across North America.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide technical consulting and management of teams and projects involving the implementation of ESRI technology, including ArcGIS Server and other ESRI technologies.
• Manage Westin project performance and delivery while achieving customer expectations.
• Provide scope and cost control.
• Lead project team.
• Mentor project team members.
• Comply with Westin Quality standards.
• Achieve utilization, project revenue and project profit objectives

Requirements:

• 5 years experience in the design and development of GIS applications using ESRI technology
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of ArcGIS Server and ArcObjects
• Appropriate experience with: C#, .NET, Java, J2EE, XML, UML, C++, OpenGL
• Familiarity and interest in SOA technology, Web Services, ArcGIS technologies
• Experience with modular software design in general and object-oriented design (OOD) and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles in particular
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Enthusiasm for writing great software
• 5+ years of professional experience in the Local Government and/or Water/Wastewater Utility industry
• Development experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcObjects, ArcIMS, and ArcSDE
• Experience installing, managing, and developing web-based mapping capabilities using ArcIMS / ArcGIS Server
• Ability to perform agile development of tools to be embedded within an ArcGIS-based set of web services applications
• Exposure to image processing, database design, 3D computer graphics, visualization technologies, modeling and simulation
• Experience serving as team lead on development projects involving a team of developers
• Strong writing and oral communication skills
• Experience in developing database driven applications utilizing either SQL Server or Oracle database platforms.
