Westin and HDR Launch Web Site for AwwaRF’s
Asset Management Research Roadmap Project

OMAHA, Neb. and RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – The water and wastewater industry’s effort to define the “Asset Management Research Needs Roadmap” has a new home on the Web.

The Web site, www.waterassetmanagement.com, is the official communications channel for a project titled “Asset Management Research Needs Roadmap.”

This project will draw on water and wastewater leaders throughout North America to identify the industry’s most pressing research needs related to asset management. It will establish Awwa Research Foundation’s asset management research agenda for the next five to 10 years.

The Web site contains both public and project-related information. Project team members can access up-to-date resources, papers and research. “Team members can access all current project material through WaterAssetManagement.com,” said Gregory Kirmeyer, HDR national director of drinking water and project manager for the roadmap development. “WaterAssetManagement.com is also an excellent way to stay current with industry thinking on the subject of water and wastewater-related asset management issues.”

The project team, led by HDR, includes more than 30 water and wastewater utilities and subcontractors including Westin Engineering (as co-principal investigator), American Water, John Fortin, Asset Management Consultant, and the Electric Power Research Institute. A complete list of participating utilities, as well as details on project scope and schedule, is available in the project site.
